My name is Hannah Eisaman and I’m 20 years old. I am from Fredonia, New York though I am currently living in Holland, MI where I’m attending Hope College and I love it. I’m planning on majoring in Social Work with a potential minor in Ministry. From there I hope to continue traveling abroad to help out developing countries.
What really got me fired up for missions was a trip to Tijuana, Mexico that I went on this past summer. There the main message was that as Christians we are either called to go or to send. Seeing as I’ve always been a doer, I knew I was supposed to go. I had heard this message before, but this was the first time in my life that I was actually able to go, and there was really nothing stopping me. The verses that stuck with me were Matthew 9:37& 38 and they say, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. There are plenty of people out in the world who need help, but not enough people to help. Another quote that I head on this trip was one by John Keith Falconer and he said, “I have but one candle of life to burn, and I would rather burn it in a land filled with darkness that in a world flooded with light. I know that I’ve been given so many advantages in my life that not many people have been given, and I feel it is my duty to go to those people to help.
God has blessed me with the best family and friends I could ask for, and in turn given me the best support team I could ever need. I love being outside and I love the sun and I absolutely love laughing. I tend to talk a lot and always seem to have something to say. I sponsor a boy from Nicaragua and it is because of him that I picked this country. I'm so excited to go to Nicaragua and I'm praying for you all that we're prepared for two amazing months!
